Meet Amy Money, This Month’s Local Creative
I’m Amy Money a millinery designer from Salisbury. I have a studio in the Market Place in Salisbury, called MONEY & MILLIE, which is shared with dress maker Millie Couture Bridal. Together we can dress you from top to toe. I trained in fashion and textiles for six years and have also studied styling, so I have a good eye for a great look.
I work by appointment and make bespoke pieces to match customers outfits and I can also offer hat hire. My 2018/2019 collection is always on show.
How long have you lived/worked in and around Salisbury?
I’ve had my business in Salisbury for 12 years and have only recently moved my studio from Fisherton Street to Market Place, Salisbury.
What gives you inspiration?
My inspirations are the country and the farm where I grew up and my connection with Wiltshire. I have my own chickens, bantams, guinea fowl and peacocks, so all of my feathers are ethically sourced.
What are you most looking forward to in the next 12 months?
So the next 12 months are a dramatic change for my business. As I now have a prime location in the heart of Salisbury, I have already seen a change and increase in footfall and we haven’t even started the spring/summer season yet!
Who do you credit as your major influence?
I’m lucky enough to make hats for Zara Phillips every year for Cheltenham and a string of famous customers. But my most favourite customers and inspiration are some of my local ladies that come back to me time and time again.
Why do you Love Salisbury?
I Love Salisbury because it brings all sorts of people into the studio from tourists to local land owners. It has a great vibe, it’s central to everywhere and close to London for commuting. Salisbury is extremely beautiful and brings a lot of inspiration to me as a designer/maker.
We’re always looking for a lovely creative business or individual to feature on our blog. If you’re interested, please contact us here.
